نیویورک، 7 آگوست (یونایتدپرس اینترنشنال)- پژوهش هایی در امریکا نشان می دهد که نوزادان از لحاظ عاطفی و ذهنی بسیار پیچیده تر از آن چیزی هستند که پیش از این تصور می شد. بیش از یک قرن بود که تصور می شد نوزادان مخلوقاتی با ذهنی بسیار ساده هستند که آنچه در اطراف شان می گذرد تقلید می کنند و تنها احساسات ابتدایی چون شادی، غم و عصبانیت را درک می کنند.
نشریه نیوزویک در گزارشی زیر عنوان «مغز کودک شما» می نویسد: علم تصویر دقیق تری از آنچه در دل و ذهن کودکان می گذرد ارائه میدهد.
مدت ها پیش از این که کودکان اولین کلمات را فرابگیرند یا سعی کنند بنشینند، بر احساسات پیچیده ای - همچون حسادت، همدلی، یأس- واقف اند که پیش از این تصور می شد بسیار دیرتر -در حدود سن نوپایی- آموخته می شوند.
آندرو ملزوف، استاد روانشناسی در دانشگاه واشینگتن دریافت که کودکان در حدود یک سالگی بادنبال کردن نگاه دیگران، استنباط آنچه را که دیگران درباره اش فکر می کنند آغاز می کنند. او می گوید: این یافته کمک می کند که توضیح دهیم چرا توانایی زبان در کودکان نابینایی که مادران شان تمایلی به تعامل با آن ها ندارند بسیار دیرتر نمایان می شود.
